I enjoy all things related to science and I'm curious about how our universe behaves.
RMIT was the frontrunner for this degree, because of its program outline, and the convenient city campus location.
Since I commenced my physics studies, I’ve really enjoyed being able to talk with professionals who are leaders in their field. The hands-on approach to learning really prepares you for the real world of physics. Gaining hands-on experience means I’m now comfortable operating SEM (scanning electron microscopes) and other technical instruments.
During my time at RMIT, I have mastered the ability to run my own scientific experiments, and present the relevant information concisely and coherently. The subjects I enjoy the most would be nanotechnology and methodology, because it has given me a first glimpse of what is arguably a very important area of science – synthesis of nanoparticles.
I’m currently the treasurer for Oxfam RMIT which has helped me meet students from other programs and has been a great way to join in on other social aspects of university life.
The advantages of this program, is that you have option to major in either physics or chemistry, and because the coursework is very diverse, it means that you venture into some interesting areas that you may not come across in a straight science degree.
When I complete my degree, I plan to further my study by undertaking the Honours program, which may lead to a PhD, or perhaps employment in the fields of materials science or radiology.
