When I started my MBA, I didn't know anything about design thinking. Once I got into the classroom, it was all about thinking outside the box – not sticking to the norm, and not sticking to stereotypes. That really helped me because I've always been creative, and it changed my life.
When I got into the MBA and started marketing, I started using all of my skills – my marketing skills and my psychology skills – and I felt like I was more complete in that sense, and in finance and business planning. So I really think the MBA has helped me build all those skills.
My teachers were amazing. In the first week of my MBA, I got a lead on an internship, and that was all because I asked my lecturer.
A real highlight for me was when my team got selected to go to Montreal for a competition for a start-up company. When you go overseas, you realise that there are so many other cultural aspects to a business. There was a wealth of knowledge around me, and I just had to tap into it.
It really gave me the tools I needed, and now I can clearly say that I can go out and help anyone out with their start-up.
I see the world differently because of the MBA. It's enabled me to become a leader, and I feel confident in my skin now.
