Project-based learning is a key aspect of our teaching. It encourages you to draw on your own creativity when problem solving and teaches you to bridge the gap between theory and practice.
Project-based learning begins right from first year. Most engineers work in teams, and at RMIT, so will you. We get you into teams and working on projects right from the start. Not just because that’s the way engineers work but also because we know you’re ready to show what you can do – so we let you put your lecture material into practice straight away.
Through projects with industry partners at the Engineering Learning Factory, to developing your own solutions to engineering problems through the EnGenius program, project-based learning will ensure you’ll graduate ready for work.
Engineering Learning Factory
RMIT’s Advanced Manufacturing Precinct (AMP) is home to the Engineering Learning Factory – a unique initiative bringing together industry, RMIT expertise and students, in a collaborative environment.
At the Engineering Learning Factory, industry practitioners work with RMIT staff to set you a project, based on a real-world problem. You’ll work as part of a cross-disciplinary team to design, prototype and manufacture a solution.
With access to the latest technology, you’ll get the chance to become an expert in an emerging global market. You’ll develop the skills and confidence that will set you apart from other engineering graduates.
