Alert – Your email has moved to Outlook

All RMIT student emails and calendars have now switched from Gmail to Microsoft Outlook. To access your email go to and log in using your existing email address and password.

Accessing your account

The University’s email provider is Microsoft Outlook. You can access your RMIT email account via the Outlook login page:

Logging in


Your username is your student number followed by

For example:


Your default password is the letter ‘p’ followed by your date of birth backwards with an exclamation mark ‘!’ at the end.

For example: 28 April 1995 is p19950428!

Once you log in for the first time, you'll need to change your password.

Forgotten your password? Go to Password assistance. If you're having trouble logging in, contact the Service and Support Centre.

Remember: Don’t check ‘Stay signed in’ when accessing from a public or shared computer.

Switch between Outlook Mail accounts

If you already have a personal Outlook account, you can easily switch between it and your RMIT student email account. To find out how to change profiles in Outlook accounts and switch between them, visit the Microsoft Support site.
