Design based research

The School of Architecture and Urban Design is widely recognised for innovative leadership and contribution to excellence in design research.

Our research is conducted through the process of designing. We explore the boundaries of design thinking through our practice research symposia in Asia, Europe and Australia. We collaborate across disciplines, work with communities and put designs, ideas and interests into practice.

Practice Research Symposia (PRS)

The School of Architecture and Urban Design stages six public PRS events every year in Australia, Asia and Europe. It is a gathering of research candidates, supervisors, and esteemed guests where the prime purpose is to be the tangible focus of a learning community – a home, so to speak – set up to facilitate collective learning.
